I have always loved Star Wars. Always.
This past year I even went to Star Wars: In Concert and met Anthony Daniels, also known as, C-3PO. It was insane meeting the life and voice behind that infamous droid.
Much like The Matrix, Star Wars coincides almost perfectly with Campbell's Hero's Journey path.
Luke Skywalker is given a call by his twin sister, Leia, in a plea through R2D2, and takes it. Along the way he has his trusty companions: C-3PO, R2, and of course Han and Chewy. They are put through tons and tons of dangerous scenarios including saving Leia, encountering Storm Troopers, and of course the Death Star. After Vader kills the Emperor to save Luke, the ending is sealed with the Millennium Falcon's speedy exit from the Death Star. Presenting to Luke and his friends the freedom to live.
It's just such a classic.
With the emergence of Star Wars I, II, and III, it brings me grief every time I watch this scene in Revenge of the Sith.
Sigh. What a waste. So much hope just shattered.
However, there will always be hope for these guys in getting the marshmallow.
you make me want to watch Star Wars now haah
